strengthening music education through service
empowering artists & educators
From the earliest days of public education in New Orleans, musicians and teachers have embedded in schools to provide students with access to comprehensive, well-rounded music instruction. Artist Corps honors this legacy by supporting today’s artist educators – cultivating a robust community of practice, providing tools to navigate a complex educational landscape, and securing the resources, training, and support they need.
connecting & advancing the field
As the intermediary organization serving the field of music education in New Orleans, Artist Corps conducts critical data collection on programs in schools; advocates for excellence in music education policy; and builds strategic partnerships among schools, community organizations and funders to drive resources, programs, and personnel where the needs are greatest.
supporting schools & leadership
Artist Corps provides guidance and technical assistance to school, network, district, and state education leaders; helps to identify talent; works to expand the teacher pipeline; and facilitates partnerships with programs and providers to strengthen school music programs.
